Bacon My Way to 35 | A Kiss of Bacon

Now that we are (somewhat) settled into our new place, I am determined to not only bake more but to blog more. I need to do both of these for myself. I need the creative outlet. Baking is my happy place and stress relief.  But since I know myself, I know I need the right motivation to take the time to actually do both. Since I enjoy the 30 by 30 list that I attempted to do before my 30th birthday, I’ve decided to do another list.

We are all aware that I have an unhealthy love a of bacon. After seeing several recipes on Buzzfeed featuring bacon, I knew what my list would be. I present to you the first recipe of Bacon My Way to 35 A Kiss of Bacon.

I used the traditional peanut butter kiss cookie recipe but added my own bacony twist. After I mixed up the dough, I tossed in about 4 or 5 chopped up slices of cooked bacon. One more quick mix with the mixer and its ready to go.

From there I rolled the dough out into little balls like normal. I then baked them for 13 minutes. I know some people make a dent for the Hersey kiss before baking them. However I’ve always just pushed the kiss into a fresh from the oven soft cookie. I find it sticks better and it also softens the kiss a bit.

The bacon doesn’t get it an overwhelming bacon flavor. It just gives a salty, slightly smokiness that makes the chocolate peanut butter combo pop.
